Scott Perry
Scott has always loved music. From the time he
was a little kid listening to his older brother’s
CCR records. He also shares a birthday with
John Fogerty of CCR. While growing up in
Arundel, Scott always wanted to be a musician
but did not learn how to play an instrument until
he was in his 20’s. In the late 1980’s he played
a few solo gigs here and there but never got
serious about his music until he auditioned and
was hired by the Cherokee band out of Madison
Maine.

While playing for Cherokee, Scott truly found himself. He discovered how much energy he could
put into a show and once this happened—that was it, he was bitten by the bug for performing
After nearly 4 years of playing with Cherokee, regrettably Scott left to search for a band closer to
home.

While at an open mic one night the band hosting it never showed so Scott took his acoustic and
played at the bar anyway—just for the fun of it. This was the night he met Dennis Moro. They
exchanged numbers and after a long time, Dennis called Scott one day to play a show that he
needed a rhythm guitarist for. That was the beginning of a long time friendship between Scott &
Dennis. But Dennis had a band—The Blake Brothers Band who he played with and had a
comfortable following.  Finally Scott sat in with the Blake Brothers Band for about a year due to a
back injury of their normal rhythm player.

Last year, the Blake Brothers Band played their last shows. Rick Blake was moving to Utah and
this left Dennis with no band and the idea behind The Scott  Perry Band was formed. As they say
the rest is history.

Scott & Dennis work so well together and have so much fun doing what they do that it’s
contagious. The audience feels the energy and that gets them going.

In Scott’s real life he is in the finishing stages of his BA in Psychology (no doubt trying to figure
himself out), works as a research assistant at the University of Southern Maine and also is
employed working with troubled youth in a residential setting. He loves to write and loves to
conduct research. He is 46 years old, Married to Tonya who is a guest performer with the band at
every show. Plays a duet with his wife and a trio with his wife and son Brandon who is 16 and
already outplays his dad.
